About

LRRThe Long Range Rifles Branch of the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain (MLAGB) seeks to foster an interest in long range target shooting with muzzle loading rifles. Unlike the regional Branches of the MLAGB, the Long Range Rifles (LRR) draws its membership from throughout the UK and also includes members from France and Holland.

Our members shoot muzzle loading percussion rifles at ranges usually commencing at 600 yards. The Branch organises many of its events to tie in with the MLAGB series of mid and long range National Rifle Championship Matches at Bisley. This enables full weekends of shooting to be arranged incorporating a social meeting and occasional informal lectures. Training shoots are held together with a comprehensive match programme which includes events for military, military match and full match rifles. There is a specific competition for Whitworth rifles whilst the most challenging match rifle event is the coveted Metford Trophy, fired at 1000, 1100 and 1200 yards.
